Starting the Day

It might have been the time change, a head cold, the Nyquil in my system from last night, or all three; but today was a rough start for me. At school.

I still woke up, ran, got the kids ready, and was at school by 7:10 - but after that I felt completely stuffed up and immobile.

I decided to walk around and observe learning. I figured the combination of interacting with students and teachers, starting the day off with that positivity, and getting a little more exercise might be good.

I left the office c 8am and got back c 9am - having seen all the classrooms in action - some in the morning routine - others in the midst of lessons or tests. It definitely helped (though I still feel sluggish).

Other ways to pep your day as a principal? How can we proactive in "seizing" the day?
