KEVIN DONOHUE

I grew up in Tampa, Florida and attended 13 years of Catholic schooling. My years at Jesuit High School propelled me to the University of Notre Dame. At ND, I majored in History and minored in Theology. My focus was on Asian history and I had the tremendous opportunity to study abroad in Australia in 2009. Following graduation in 2010, I entered the Alliance for Catholic Education program. In ACE, I taught fifth grade at St. Michael's in South Central Los Angeles, while earning my Master's of Education.

In 2012, I moved to San Diego to be with the love of my life. I taught middle school history, pre-algebra, and religion at Notre Dame Academy in Del Mar. In July of 2013, Jenna and I were married in San Diego. For three years, I taught at St. Bernard Catholic School in the Middle School while serving as Technology Coordinator and Vice Principal. I spent a year in the Onward Leaders program at St. Anne's and became principal of St. Joseph School in Hawthorne in 2017. After four wonderful years, my family moved to the Boston Area and I became principal of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus School in Somerville. After two years in Boston and a move to Arkansas, I joined the coaching team at FACTS Educational Solutions.

I view education as the second most important gift we can give the next generation. As Catholics, faith and education go hand-in-hand and we are called to spread both in the world. I view teaching as my vocation to do so. My goal is to prepare students spiritually and intellectually to fulfill the God-given potential inside of each one of them. In order to do this, students need to be respectful, responsible and prepared. I believe that learning can and should be fun, but should also be assessed fairly and completely to ensure that each individual works hard.
