Inspiration: Econ Talk Episode: "A.J. Jacobs on Thanks a Thousand!"

This podcast episode is truly great - a wonderful discussion on the idea of thankfulness, the networks that support us, and much much more.

This germ stuck in my head though:

...psychologists talk about savoring as a very important part of life, and just stretching out a moment for a little normal than normal. Because if you don't, then everything just goes by in a flash. And that's it. So, trying to focus on a moment. And I actually--I try to do this a lot in life--is, pick out a moment of the day and try to remember it. I have a list on my computer called 'One Thing.' And it's a document, one thing I remember from a meal, one thing I remember from a conversation, a book, a podcast. And I find it very helpful because otherwise it all just blurs together.

This is a truly great idea. In reflecting on the day - what stands out?

To some extent, this blog, has become or is the "one thing" from life as a principal. But my life is more than that, so I'm adding the "one thing" list. It's in my Google Keep and I'm jotting down one moment - for myself - that I want to hold onto.

Today's: the inspiration of this podcast and that the second child likes to be hung upside down as a bat - just laughing and giggling and asking to do it again and again (also hide and seek at 5pm when the sun's already down is a blast with two little boys outside in our park).
