The role of a leader is to not have all the answers, but to have the questions. - Michael Hyatt [emphasis mine].
Leadership is an exercise in humility and trust in the Lord. The very idea of forming a culture is because you cannot be everywhere all at once - even in a small "company" or school - someone somewhere is probably doing something wrong.
By accepting that fact, forming a culture of self-reflection and growth, and providing accountability through questions, a leader can ensure that such mistakes are not crippling, but instead, an opportunity for growth.
The art of asking questions - to dig through the entanglement of personalities, history, expectations, assumptions, et al. - is where a leader can make an impact. As Meg would say - there can be no sacred cows to get in the way of our goal.
If our goal is to continually improve the way we form our students and children as adults - we must recognize that we can never reach a finish line. Our finish line is constantly and consistently moving - as our broader culture changes, as our charges grow.
As such, the leaders cannot have all the answers - for they are cast in sand. By creating a culture of questioning, of self-reflecting - "is this the best?" or "how is this forming our students?" - we can anticipate the long-term lack of stability of the nature of our work and move forward with our students.
